Dries Van Noten's collection consists of plenty of silk robes with a light and simple garments. 'The models were draped in Vietnamese-styled ensembles, kimono-like robes and high Chinese-inspired necklines. All different kind of silks were used for the delicate look, many of which were printed with beautiful blossoming florals.' ( trendhunter.com) For me this collection did have some stunning pieces but on a whole it wasn't amazing and there wasn't anything particularly that special.
Caroline Herrera's collection was inspired by the Korean Traditional dress the hanbok and botanical plated collected in the eighteenth century. To me the collection was beautiful and I personally enjoyed it because I love the Korean hanbok, so to be able to see how it would be inter prated by Herrera was lovely. The collection was elegant but strong and polished with ' the superfluous obi like bows that decorated the bust and waistlines of evening dresses hardy dispelled the disquiet.' (style.com) Louis Vuitton's collection was interesting and almost not what I expected from the fashion house. The collection embraced many different things by ' Jacobs was talking about Art Deco, Art nouveau, orientalism and the first designer he ever worked for Kansai Yamamoto.' (style.com) All I can really say the collection wasn't boring but wasn't exactly my taste, however I did like the use of colour maybe it was a bit too much at some point but I prefer collections to be colourful and exciting than monotone. There were clear signs of inspiration from the Chinese cheongsam but definitely modernised.
