Rene Gruau was an amazing fashion illustrator and was the influential Dior illustrator. Besides working for Dior he also work with many other well known fashion houses such as Balmain, Givenchy & Balenciaga. His work was also featured in Vogue.
I seriously love his work its so beautiful and exquisite beyond words. Even though it's detailed it has a sense 
simplicity.
simplicity. I actually did a copy version of one of his illustration last year. ( will post when I have the time to scan ) So I was excited to discover that there will be an exhibition of his work starting November 10th till January 9th 2011 at the somerset house Trust, hopefully I ll be able to find the time to go !
